Stembridge is a candidate school* for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) and pursuing authorization as an IB World School.

*Only schools authorized by the International Baccalaureate can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP) or the IB Career-related Certificate (IBCC). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) is an international training program. International Baccalaureate Diplomas are accepted by most of the leading universities in Europe, the USA, and the UK.

Graduates of IB schools take internal as well as external examinations, which are examined by independent experts from Switzerland. This ensures the recognition of the graduate at the international level, regardless of the school. In addition, they write a compulsory diploma thesis based on their educational interests.

  • From September 2021, Stembridge is a candidate school* for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and pursuing authorization as an IB World School. Enrollment for the IB DP (Diploma Program) program for grade 9 graduates is underway starting from the 2022/2023 academic year.

  • What is a language training program?
    According to the current IB Language Policy the training program can be taken place in three languages: English, French and Spanish. The International Baccalaureate program in Stembridge is taught* in English.

  • For studying under the IB program, knowledge of English at a level not lower than B2 at the end of grade 9 and dedication are important.
  • What is the admission procedure?
    Upon admission to school, the student and his or her parents (guardians, guardians) are invited to an interviews. Students choose subjects at an advanced level and discuss the educational path in advance.
  • What are the differences between secondary schools of the Republic of Belarus and IB?
    The International Baccalaureate and Stembridge School are fundamentally concerned with the integrity of education. Compliance with its principles is governed by the Academic Honesty Policy.
  • Is the individualized approach used in the school?
    Individualization of learning is the basis of IB learning, starting from students' choice of subjects to study, ending with special attention and support from the school to students with special educational needs (SEN), both gifted and limited in one way or another.
  • Are there any differences between evaluation policy in secondary schools of the Republic of Belarus and IB?
    The International Baccalaureate Assessment Program provides a 7-point scale of achievement assessment while National evaluation requirements include a 10-point scale. If the programs are combined, the results obtained within the framework of the Diploma program are converted by the teacher into a 10-point scale in accordance with the recommendations of the policy and the grade descriptors in the educational system of the Republic of Belarus.
